Gairdner Science Week 2022 Symposium

The Gairdner Foundation is pleased to host this year’s Gairdner Science Week International Symposium: “Changing views of the hematopoietic stem cell: lineage bias, clonal hematopoiesis and impact on disease.” This free event will take place on October 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST at MaRS Centre Auditorium, Lower Concourse, 101 College Street, Toronto, ON, M5G 1L7, Canada. Virtual tickets are also available.

 Inspired by the work of 2022 Canada Gairdner International Award laureate, Dr. John Dick, this symposium will bring together some of the world’s top researchers in the field of blood stem cells to explore the evolution over the years of the concept of the multipotent blood stem cell first put forward by Till and McCulloch and how this has impacted our understanding of blood-borne diseases. The event will feature Sten-Eirik Jacobsen (Karolinska Institute), Ben Ebert (Dana Farber Cancer Institute), Ana Cvejic (University of Copenhagen), Emmanuelle Passague (Columbia University), John Dick (UHN), David Scadden (Harvard University), Margaret Goodell (Baylor College of Medicine), Tsvee Lapidot (The Weizmann Institute of Science).
