Global Reach. Outsized Impact.
Leaning into the internationality of the ISSCR by hosting scientific programming around the world has been a priority for the Society for over 15 years. What started as partnering with other scientific societies and national stem cell organizations has continued to evolve as a vital strategic priority.
Expanding Opportunities for Students
For the second year now, we have created opportunities for early career scientists, primarily trainees and postdoctoral scholars, to design their dream session at the ISSCR Annual Meeting. Not only does this give early career researchers experience with developing scientific programming, but also encourages them to build new relationships with scientists from different institutions who can share their work as part of the theme of the session. The Science Spotlight Sessions will be held on Wednesday 10 July from 4:00 to 5:30 PM at ISSCR 2024.
The Power of Mentoring
In recognition of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science a few days ago, I thought I would spend some time this month to explore the immeasurable impact that forging strong mentoring relationships can have on our scientific careers – and our lives.

Amid an exceptional 12 months of advances for stem cell science and regenerative medicine, the ISSCR remains focused not only on facilitating scientific exchange through our meetings and events, but also working to ensure pivotal areas of research in our field can continue to move forward unencumbered.
