The ISSCR Signs On to the Coalition for Health Funding’s Non-Defense Discretionary (NDD) United Campaign

On 3 January 2024, the ISSCR signed on to the NDD United campaign, joining 1,098 signatories urging Congress to complete the FY 2024 appropriations process and adopt the bipartisan Senate funding framework as a starting point for final negotiations.

The NDD United campaign aims to educate policymakers about the importance of government programs that support public health, science, education, housing, and infrastructure. They advocate for adopting the bipartisan Senate funding framework as a starting point for final negotiations which includes an approximate 2% increase to NIH’s budget. Beginning negotiations with this framework also increases the likelihood of excluding harmful policy riders from the final funding bills.
