The ISSCR is Updating its Guidelines

Stem cell science, its clinical application, and the ethical issues surrounding it have rapidly advanced since the release of the 2016 ISSCR Guidelines for Stem Cell Research and Clinical Translation. The latest update will address important scientific, ethical, and regulatory issues, including embryo models, organoids, chimeras, genome editing, and the regulation and economics of cell therapies. The process is being led by Robin Lovell-Badge, PhD, FRS (Francis Crick Institute, U.K.) and working groups comprised of international experts across stem cell biology, ethics, policy, and regulatory issues. The ISSCR Guidelines have served as an international standard for stem cell research and clinical translation since their inception and expansion in 2006 and 2008.
