The Global Stem Cell Event: Join us in San Francisco for ISSCR 2022 and Celebrate 20 Years of Excellence

Earlier this month, the ISSCR opened abstract submission for the 2022 Annual Meeting. It’s a much-anticipated moment, not only for potential speakers, but one that signals the rejoining of our community in person. It also marks the 20th Anniversary of the ISSCR Annual Meeting, a meeting home to the most impactful people and ideas in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.

The Annual Meeting is always a highlight of my year. It’s a chance to reconnect with friends and colleagues, and a source of creativity and inspiration. So, I hope many of you will submit an abstract, and all will attend. Registration opens 10 January.

Until then, we invite you to share 20 words about the inspiration behind your work, and what ISSCR means to you. We’ll feature your words at the ISSCR meeting this June.

The Most Comprehensive Meeting in our Field
In the last 20 years, our field has reached a transformative moment. It’s evident in the 2022 program; one that uniquely and comprehensively spans advances in stem cell science and regenerative medicine.

To help attendees navigate the breadth of the conference, while adding more speakers, we’ve expanded the “meeting within a meeting” format ISSCR introduced in 2020. The 2022 Annual Meeting has 100 opportunities for abstract-selected speakers integrated throughout the meeting, organized in five theme tracks. These tracks are designed to help our global community find and connect with scientists with similar research interests.

A Hybrid Experience
While many of us are keen to meet again in person, we know not every member of our global community may be able to travel. That’s why I am so delighted the ISSCR will also deliver a virtual experience for our 2022 Annual Meeting – the first hybrid annual meeting for the society. Regardless of how you attend – in person or virtually – attendees will connect through one common platform, allowing real-time global collaboration. Poster presenters have the option to present in-person, virtually, and in both formats.

I look forward to seeing all of you in San Francisco! The future starts here.
