Possibilities Start Here

We have tremendous opportunities in the society for early career scientists both at the 2022 Annual Meeting and throughout they year, and do I thought it was the perfect time to share all of the ways to engage.

One new opportunity that I am particularly enthusiastic about is the launch of the Stem Cell Reports Early Career Editorial Board. Scientists will be selected through an application process, and those invited to serve on the new board will advise on content and programming, receive mentoring from journal editors, and build new connections throughout the society and the field.

If you have not visited ISSCR.digital yet, you are missing out on exceptional talks on timely topics from organoids to embryo models to our most recent webinar series on spatial transcriptomics. All ISSCR members can access scientific webinar content as a member benefit – and more than 50 programs are available on the platform, which also highlights upcoming events and powers the live stream portions of hybrid meetings. What’s more, the platform is designed to facilitate networking with interactive tools and based on interests you identify.

Produced by the society’s Education Committee members, Core Concepts for Stem Cell Biology: Syllabus and Learning Guide is designed to help undergraduate and graduate instructors with a flexible teaching resource. If you are teaching a new class, or just want fresh ideas, download this free resource from the ISSCR.

Explore Content Designed for Early Career Scientists at ISSCR 2022
If you are attending the ISSCR 2022 Annual Meeting in San Francisco, there are several events designed with early career scientists in mind. The Early Career Group Leader Luncheon is one that should not be missed. You’ll have an invaluable opportunity to interact with peers and a senior scientist in a small group setting and meet group leaders who are facing similar challenges.

This year’s Career Panel Luncheon, Molding a Multidimensional Career: Vision for the Next 20, offers a chance to explore new opportunities in both academia and industry and seek advice on how to take the next steps in your career journey.

Lastly, if you are looking for your next job opportunity, the Career Lab and Career Lab Networking Lounge at ISSCR 2022 are terrific destinations for both job seekers and those looking for talent. The Career Lab is accessible on the digital platform for any registrants to peruse and schedule times to connect with potential employers.

The ISSCR is continually seeking out new ways to provide value and opportunities for members through events and content that build knowledge and expand relationships. Through membership in our global society, new possibilities to excel start here.
