6th ISSCR Annual Meeting Press Registration

Media Registration Eligibility Requirements

ATTENTION MEMBERS OF THE PRESS: Advance press registration is no longer being accepted. Register on site at the Pennsylvania Convention beginning June 11.

Journalists who are employed by accredited news organizations attending the meeting for the purpose of editorial coverage will be granted complimentary press credentials. To qualify, journalists must present media identification (such as an international accredited press pass or a business card issued by a recognized news organization) at the press registration desk at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Freelance journalists must present an official letter of assignment from an accredited news organization on company letterhead. Obtain a press badge at the press registration desk at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Companies or organizations producing publications, videos and/or other electronic media intended for marketing, advertising, financial analysis or public relations purposes may not register as press. Financial analysts and public relations personnel will not be granted press access.

Annual Meeting Embargo Policy

Press is required to abide by the embargo policies governing the 6th ISSCR Annual Meeting. The embargo policy states that coverage of abstracts and poster presentations being presented at the annual meeting is strictly prohibited until the beginning of the meeting, June 11, 2008, at 1 p.m. EDT USA. Content that may be pre-published online in advance of print publication is also subject to the ISSCR embargo policy.

Onsite Guidelines

Registered press are required to wear ISSCR press badges at all times while onsite at the ISSCR annual meeting. All scientific sessions, education sessions, oral and poster abstract sessions and the exhibit and poster hall at the annual meeting are open to the media.

Still photography, video and/or audio taping any of the ISSCR sessions or in the exhibit and poster hall is strictly prohibited.

Press Rooms and Press Conference Policies

Press credentials are required for entry to the press rooms. Company and public relations representatives are not permitted in the press rooms. All public relations and corporate representatives are expected to be respectful of reporters' needs and deadlines.

The press room is equipped with one phone line and may be reserved by registered media through the press office staff. Registered press who require a room for an extended period of time to conduct interviews may reserve the press interview room. Use of the press interview room is by appointment only and subject to availability. Special requests related to press facilities above and beyond what is provided by the ISSCR must be made in writing no less than three weeks prior to the annual meeting, and must be approved by the ISSCR.

ISSCR Meeting Mission

The ISSCR annual meeting is a venue for delegates to come together and share ideas with each other in a relaxed setting. While we wish to accommodate members of the press, we are committed to preserving this valued opportunity, which our attendees report is the source of invaluable collaborations. We ask all members of the press to respect our mission, the meeting attendees’ time and the freedom we allow our delegates to discuss their work in a protected and informal environment. Based on space requirements, the ISSCR reserves the right to limit the number of press badges issued to a news organization.
