Draft Guidelines for Comment
The ISSCR has released a draft of the Guidelines for the Clinical Translation of Stem Cells for public comment. The ISSCR Task Force on the Clinical Translation of Stem Cells created the guidelines to define the scientific, clinical, regulatory, ethical and societal issues that must be addressed to ensure that basic stem cell research is responsibly transitioned into appropriate clinical applications for treating patients. The period of open public comment ended on October 1, 2008. Thank you to everyone who provided comments; the Task Force is now deliberating on the information received and developing a final document. Download the pdf draft of the Guidelines for public comment by clicking here.
The ISSCR will not comment on the guidelines at this time. This release is for the express purpose of soliciting public comment. The guidelines are still in draft form and the final guidelines will be released at a later date after comments have been received and appropriate revisions have been made to the document.
